It is an excellent article about how simple, yet effective and hit-making, some pop chord progressions are. The article discusses how you can apply these same formulas and-or logic in your own songwriting. In particular, it is noted that many pop songs have the use of loops in common. (Yes, the pros use loops). Many hit songs are based on looped chord sequences. Quite often, many pop songs have a simple progression of four chords. These 4 chords are often looped every verse and chorus and even only slightly varied in the bride sections.
